Renewable energy is important - not only because it provides clean power, but because it helps spur good-paying green collar job growth and reduces our dependence on imported fossil fuels.
here are a number of ways that you can promote the development of green energy in your community. The first is to directly install photovoltaic panels or another renewable energy source on your home or house of worship. If you are not ready to take that step, find out whether your electric utility or other utilities in your area offer a "green power" option where you can contract with the utility to purchase renewable electricity from the grid. Finally, offset your emissions by purchasing carbon offsets, also know as renewable energy credits (RECs) from Texas Interfaith Power & Light or your utility.
